copper, bronze, oak, paint
There is a tension in this piece. Tension between the delicacy of the face and the heft of the hammer pulling forward. Tension between the destructive role of the hammer and the clean copper sheet on the wall. People release this tension physically in their interaction: beating the impression of the hammer into the face of the copper sheet. In this action I hope people internalize the tension of the piece and experience an emotional response that leaves unresolved questions.
